The Indians aren't worried about left-hander Juan Lara pitching again. Their concern is he survives the multiple injuries he suffered when the SUV he was driving was struck by a speeding motorcycle in the Dominican Republic on Saturday.
The two men on the motorcycle were killed instantly when they hit the driver's side of Lara's vehicle.
Lara is suffering from a blood clot on the brain, a cervical fracture of the spine, a collapsed lung and multiple broken ribs. He's comatose and breathing with the help of a ventilator at General Hospital Plaza de la Salud in Santo Domingo, D.R.
