You are correct as far as Garrett's concern for individual awards. Yet being required to drive 5+ hours to/from Champaign, going thru the "hoopla" at halftime out at midfield of Memorial Stadium to congratulate an opponent which you clearly proved was inferior by comparison (Shown on two game films from 07 season meetings)
HAD TO BE A SLAP IN THE FACE***.....even to a VERY HUMBLE athlete like Garrett.
Garrett is very excited to join the Buckeye family!! I have never seen Garrett as "pumped" about an opportunity which awaits him, EVER!!!!
***Prior to this award Cwynar had contacted Garrett(via the internet) "trash talking" about the fact that Garrett's season was over but Cwynar would play for a state title....Garrett was shocked assuming Cwynar had more "class" than this.....
Garrett replied "Good luck at Notre Dame" then blocked anymore nonsense from Cwynar on his P.C.
