The Kentucky High School Athletic Association unveiled a new six-class system for high school football this season.ut even a new system couldn?t keep a familiar visitor out of the championship game of the largest classification in the Bluegrass State.

Trinity is back again.

The 17-time state champion Shamrocks made it to the final for the seventh time in the past eight seasons last night after clubbing Boone County 56-21 before about 8,000 fans at Harry Jansing Field in the Class 6-A semifinals.

After winning the last two 4-A state championships and five in coach Bob Beatty?s first seven years, the Shamrocks stormed back into the final.

Trinity (12-2) has now won nine straight games and scored 41 or more points in each of those contests.

?All week we prepared and prepared and prepared,? linebacker Jordan Whiting said. ?They caught us with our eyes kind of shut. Eventually, we were comfortable with the scheme they were playing.?

And the Shamrocks took over.

Trinity forced a punt on the next Boone County possession and after another TD, Whiting came up with an interception for the Shamrocks.
