Going off Mili's description of the medical redshirt situation even if it counted toward toward 2 games would make Wilson eligible to recieve one even if he does play (2 games =15%). Plus with his size and speed and the leadership that he provides to our defense, he would be clutch to have in our DE rotation. I think if he's back and been going full go for a few weeks, he'll be in the game. That's a scary threat coming off both sides, I seem to remember a pass threat combo that gave us a lot of problems last year.

The rules for a medical redshirt have changed to include 30% of games, rounded up, so that's up to 4 games in any 12-game or 13-game season. But any partipation after the midpoint of the season eliminates the possibility of a medical redshirt, per the NCAA rules. So if he plays in the title game he could not get the medical redshirt.
But if Lawrence figures that he will be entering the 2009 NFL Draft, he wouldn't need the medical redshirt year anyway.
