"improving" is a bit of a misnomer. Detroit is improving for a 1 year run, provided the Mitchell report doesn't submarine some of their lineup. and even if it doesn't, they still hang their hopes on the notion that the oft injured 40 year old sheffield can still go, that pudge can still hang in there, than the gambler can give them a full season, and that dontrelle willis really isn't a hack. all of that while hoping ordonez can duplicate his career year numbers.
on paper, detroit is a better ballclub. however, a few injuries, and they are in some trouble.
as for the indians, if they give up a chunk of the farm to net haren and/or chavez, i'd almost bank on CC getting dealt if he doesn't sign before the trade deadline.
