And he arrived back at the same thought he had before getting on the plane. The NFL will still be there next year, but the chance to claim a national championship won't.
”I've still got a lot of growing up to do on the football field,” Maualuga said. “I thought about it hard and prayed on it. The answer was right in front of my face on whether I wanted to take that step. Hopefully we can make a run at the national championship.”
