Tennessee's Faison charged with DUI
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee football coach Phillip Fulmer has suspended walk-on player Vince Faison for the first two games of the 2008 season after he was arrested for drunken driving.
Faison was arrested on charges of DUI sometime between late Friday night and early Saturday morning.
"Vince has embarrassed himself and his team. We expect all our players -- scholarship or walk-on -- to be good citizens," said Fulmer in a UT release.
"Any breaking of a law is serious. A DUI is a very serious offense."
Faison will be suspended for two games and required to undergo alcohol evaluation and counseling in addition to other internal punishments, Fulmer said.
The 27-year-old defensive back enrolled at UT in January.
Faison is the fifth Vols player charged by police in less than a month.
