EIGHT MEMORABLE GAMES IN THE OHIO STATE-INDIANA BASKETBALL RIVALRY:
FEB. 6, 1950
No. 7 Ohio State 56, No. 12 Indiana 55
In the first OSU-IU matchup in which either team was ranked, Dick Schnittker scored 27 points, including 13 of 13 from the foul line, to help rally the Buckeyes from a 10-point deficit with 10 minutes left. The victory was Ohio State's fifth in a 12-game winning streak that propelled the Buckeyes to a No. 2 final ranking.
JAN. 9, 1960
No. 7 Ohio State 96, No. 11 Indiana 95
Larry Siegfried's only field goal won it at the buzzer, capping a Buckeyes comeback from five points down with 43 seconds left. The winning basket followed a timeout in which coach Fred Taylor ordered the Buckeyes to "run the emergency score," a play Ohio State practiced extensively for such critical moments.
