An early commitment would likely cause Ohio State to go in another direction, and there are plenty of other directions in which to go right now - there are lots of talented kids in state, and the Buckeyes are currently one of the top 5 teams in the country in terms of their ability to recruit on a "national" level (along with USC, Florida, Notre Dame, and Michigan). With two or three LB's already in the fold (Whiting and Homan and possibly Klein), and several more top prospects still on the board, Studlien just isn't in a very strong position right now with respect to Ohio State. But, Signing Day is a year away, and there's absolutely no reason for a solid prospect to make an early commitment ... unless it's to his "dream school".
