I?ve updated our bracket projection based on this weekend?s games. As I wrote in Saturday?s papers, it seems that more teams are trying to play their way out of the field than into it.
That?s why, for example, Ohio State remains a bubble team instead of dropping into the ?still a chance? category, where the Buckeyes deserved to have dropped. They?re lucky they still have Indiana, Purdue and Michigan State on the schedule. If they had only the Big Ten mediocrities to play, they?d have no chance to get the marquee win they desperately need. They have to beat at least one ? and maybe two -- of those teams to stay on the right side of the bubble.
Of the other Ohio teams, Kent State helped itself with a victory at St. Mary?s, while Wright State and Dayton took a hit with losses. Wright State?s loss to Illinois State probably dooms any chance of an at-large bid.
