Unless the plan is to win in the playoffs by out-scoring people, which hasn't been the case even in the "new" NHL, I'm not sure the Pens really helped themselves in the playoffs so to speak. the regular season will be interesting to watch though, that's for sure.

What the heck makes you think they need help in goal? They don't.
If you knew anything about the Penguins, you'd know that guys like Armstrong and EC are easily replaced by a number of guys. EC will only be missed during shootouts and I guess that won't matter in the playoffs. Hossa's a better defensive forward than Army anyway. Gill will help in the back end, too.
Crosby-Hossa and Malone-Malkin-Sykora are a much better playoff lines than just Crosby-Armstrong at #1
