Basketball: Mansfield Senior star earns top northwest district honor
Plymouth coach Brad Turson shared the Division IV coach of the year award with New Knoxville's Dan Hegemier and Defiance Ayersville's Marv Retcher.
Turson led the Big Red to a 17-3 record, the best regular-season mark in school history, and a runner-up finish in the Firelands Conference.
Plymouth plays Sandusky St. Mary's for the D-IV district title tonight at Willard.
Turson's son, sophomore Brook Turson, was a first-team pick in Division IV. The younger Turson led north central Ohio in scoring (21.6), rebounding (10.5), assists (6.8) and steals (3.2).
