Former Michigan tailback Mike Hart was not bothered by his performance at last weekend's NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.
Hart didn't place in the top 10 among running backs in any of the seven drills. But he isn't worried about slipping in the upcoming NFL draft. Most draft analysts think he will be taken in the third or fourth round.
"I think I'm one of the best running backs in the country. I don't think anybody is better than me," Hart said. "As a running back, that's how you have to think.
"Some people are going to slip with as many running backs as there are, but you need to have a great week (at the combine). ... That's all you can do, and then it's up to the team who they want to take."

To be honest, nobody should really be "bothered" by Hart's Combine performance. Anyone who was expecting him to rip off a great 40 time was clearly delusional. Hart isn't a workout warrior, never has been and never will be. I know he takes a lot of [censored] on this board for him running his mouth, but he was still a great collegiate player.
"If you hear things about me, my 40 time didn't surprise me," he said. "They're not saying Mike Hart is slow; they already knew what I was going to run when I was there. ... If they're interested in me, they're interested in me because of my game film, not because I was going to the combine and run a 4.2 or anything like that."
Yeah he's slow, small, injury-prone etc... but the kid plays hard, is a virtual certainty to get you 100 yards if you have non-retarded blocking in front of him, is one of the better pass blockers at RB in the draft, and is pretty tough.
