I know we're getting a bit off topic here, but it certainly isn't unprecedented for top Ohio talent to go to Stanford. Aaron Focht, from Germantown Valley View (1996 recruiting class), ended up as a safety at Stanford. Aaron had offers from the best of the Midwest, including Noter Dame and, if memory serves me, even
OSU. I remember Aaron speaking when he signed his letter of intent, and he stated that it came down to academics. I don't think he felt it was likely he would play at the next level, so a Stanford degree meant a lot to him, especially having come from a middle class family. Don't know what Linsley's background is, but perhaps he's thinking along the same lines. I hope not!
P.S. I remember Focht's performance as a junior in the state playoffs in 1994 against Cincinnati Wyoming. That year, he outdid a future
OSU and NFL corner (then playing not only in the secondary, but also as QB). That young man was named Ahmed Plummer.
