THE Ohio State University has shown some interest in the 6-2 sophomore and surefire national player of the year.
Simmons' recruitment is still wide open with four official visits still remaining.
OSU becomes another in a long line of courtiers with their sights set on Simmons, who visited the University of South Florida (Big East) and head coach Stan Heath this past weekend.
The Bucks' level of interest in Simmons will not be known until after their NIT run. OSU will take on Ole Miss in the semifinals of the NIT on Tuesday night.

Grin and 'Bear' it: Mott Community College wins back-to-back national titles

Danville, Ill. - With each passing win, the Mott Community College Bears and their head coach, Steve Schmidt, make a little more history. Not school history, of course, those records are already written in Schmidt's own hand.
We're talking national history.
No junior college has ever won three national championships; and no junior college has gone back-to-back since 1993--until now.
The Bears finished out an historic season with a nail-biting 83-73 victory over Columbus State in the finale of the NJCAA national championship game.

Mott head coach Steve Schmidt can't put his finger on exactly what makes his All-American sophomore Jeremie Simmons one of the premier JUCO players in the country. He just knows it when he sees it.
"He has that 'something' that not too many players have," said Schmidt after Simmons willed the Bears to an 80-66 victory over Kalamazoo Valley in the semifinals of the MCCAA state tournament on Friday night. "It's hard to describe. He's focused, consistent and driven. He hit some tough shots tonight when nobody else was in sync. He just has that intangible."

Windy City

Former Von Steuben Prep Star, Jeremie Simmons, was recently named MVP of the JUCO Camp in Indianapolis. The 6-2 combo guard out of Mott CC in Flint, Michigan was impressive with his all around strong play and could very easily be rated the number one JUCO point guard in the nation. It was out of high school Windy City Basketball was singing Simmons' praises over more highly rated in state guards and tried pushing Simmons to Mid to High Major programs. Many questioned Simmons' ability to run the Point Guard position while Windy City thought his best position on the next level would be point guard. Congrats to Jeremie Simmons and Good Luck.....Next up for Simmons is Mullens JUCO Camp in Tulsa.
