Well, crap. I missed a lot of the game last night while playing poker, though I did catch most of the first three innings. That was a pretty sorry 1st: sending 6 men to bat, recording 1 hit, having FOUR base runners, and still not getting a run. That really set the tone.
On the bright side, in the Reds losses, the scores are of the 1-0, 3-2, 5-3, and 4-2 variety. That's a step in the right direction from the 7-0, 10-6, 9-2, 12-7 type losses they racked up last year. Their RS/RA splits to date place them in the top half of the NL in offense, and the top 4 of the NL in pitching (#5 overall in RA for all 30 MLB teams). After last year, I'll take that in a heartbeat.
Here's hoping for a better result tonight!
One thing I've been thinking about
: Dunn still doesn't have a contract, right? Last I read he is playing on the '08 club option this year and will be a FA when the season is over, correct?
