The PS2 outsold the PS3 for a few reasons.. the PS3 didn't have many games, there was an HD DVD/Blu-ray war, and it was $600. All three of those have changed, so PS3 sales will jump considerably.
However, I do see what you're saying. I work in media retail, and we sell far more PS2 games than PS3 games. It really would be stupid for them to not dump resources into the PS3, though.

They'd better make the crowd look
somewhat realistic. The crowds annoy the hell out of me. It's not really the player graphics that bother me, it's everything else when you're playing the game. Sidelines, crowd, etc.
