More than likely he was told he could compete for a starting job next year. That just isn't happening at
OSU with all 3 starters returning. He'd also be behind Freeman at SAM or Hoobler at MIKE.
McCoy, on the other hand, could come in and possibly be Hawk's backup next year. That's why he's the most important LB recruit for
OSU this year, imo.
