NEAL C. LAURON | DISPATCH
Curtis Terry (44), shown here making a tackle in the 2005 spring game, has been working out at fullback this spring.
Curtis Terry had plenty of physical pain last season, courtesy of foot and ankle sprains. But that was nothing compared with his mental anguish. An outside linebacker, he had been projected as a vital member of the Ohio State defense. He likely would have played a key role in the Buckeyes' push to a second straight appearance in the national championship game.
Instead, he was relegated to the sideline.
"It was real tough," Terry said. "Any time you're hurt, as hard as you try to help, not being out there you feel like you're losing your place on the team. You feel like everybody is forgetting about you. That's not to say that they do, but when you're not really helping, that's how you kind of feel."
It was compounded during the title game loss to Louisiana State.
