Indiana also hasn't had a DB drafted since 1996, and have seven drafted since 1937 (earliest year that NFL.com has listed). That's a DB every decade. We've had six drafted in the last decade and 34 total.

And while all that is true, they also went to a bowl game last year and are going to have a corner drafted on the first day this year. So while everything you said is valid, they can point to last year and a new coach and possibly convince someone like DJ that he can be a huge part of the program's rise from mediocrity. DJ probably doesn't care what happened before he was born, at least not nearly as much as he would care what happened in the very recent history of the program.
