My reply from BTN. Classic bait and switch. Not one time did they ever indicate that it was a free preview.
Hi JC,
As part of the agreement between the Big Ten Network and DISH Network, DISH customers across the nation had an opportunity to view BTN in its initial football and basketball seasons without paying additional subscription costs. That free preview has just ended.
BTN will now reside within America's Top 100 Plus in the eight Big Ten states. It is the package which most DISH customers have, and where most regional sports programming has aired in the past and is essentially the satellite equivalent of cable's "expanded basic" package.
If you live outside the eight Big Ten states, you will still have access to BTN through America's Top 100 Plus and the Multi-Sport Pack.
I apologize that the switch was not communicated to you. We have recently been in communication with DISH Network about the issue. For more information about the agreement and the switch, you may reach DISH Network public relations at Echostar.com.
For information on upgrading or changing your service, you may contact DISH Network customer service at 1-866-306-4611. For the fastest service please have your account information available. You may also find more details at DISH Network -- Packages Overview.
Best regards,
Big Ten Network
