Browns' Crennel clarifies status of Bentley, QBs

BEREA A lot of people are assuming it, but have you heard the boss say it?
Today, Browns Head Coach Romeo Crennel said it:
"Derek Anderson is the starter. Brady Quinn is the backup."
It was Crennel's response to a request to clarify the Browns' quarterback situation heading into spring practices. He had just finished a speech benefiting Boys and Girls Clubs of America at the Northeast Ohio Celebrity Luncheon Club.
During the question-and-answer segment of Crennel's talk, Crennel was asked to identify Anderson's and Quinn's strengths. The question happened to come from former Browns place-kicker Don Cockroft, who told the coach he was particularly interested in the take on Quinn.
"Derek Anderson is a big, tall, strong-armed pocket passer," Crennel said. "Brady Quinn ... the thing about Brady you notice is his leadership ability. Even when he was running our scout team ... he takes charge of those guys, and he leads those guys, and they perform for him.
