I fail to see how being selected over equally or more qualified competition on the basis that you won the SEC does not constitute a free pass.

Either way, as I said before, I favor insight into the BCS. It's a cartel; that may not necessarily mean it should go, but it can't continue to divert money into schools without giving everyone a fair shake. I mean, the reason these leagues are granted the right to hold a monopoly is because it benefits the consumer; if there is no equal consideration given to all the contenders, then the system is not benefiting the consumer and should be changed.

Hence, oversight. It's not a bad thing. Now, Congress may not be the body to get the job done correctly, but the economic considerations of the situation do warrant some form of governmental regulation.
