Marc Dann

So much for "changing the culture" down at the attorney general's office. Anyone want to give an over/under on how long till Dann follows his aides out the door?

2 top Dann aides fired, 2 more resign

Quote:
Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann admitted today he had an affair with an underling that created an atmosphere that encouraged sexual harassment and cost four people their jobs...

The Democrat, who promised to end the "culture of corruption" in state government during his 2006 campaign, essentially acknowledged he wasn't qualified for the office. But after "on-the-job training" he now wants Ohioans to give him a second chance...

"Marc Dann failed the people of Ohio, and he must resign immediately," DeWine said. "The state's top law enforcement officer has allowed immoral, unethical and even criminal behavior to thrive under his own supervision and at times with his own participation. He turned the attorney general's office into a raunchy frat pad, lied to the press and lied to his own investigator. It's simply not acceptable that everyone but Dann himself will be held accountable."...

Later, Ohio GOP Chairman Robert T. Bennett added:
"Marc Dann has been proving himself unfit for the job of attorney general since he took office, and today's admissions are just further confirmation of that fact. The lying, mismanagement, and cronyism that Dann and his senior aides engaged in are an utter embarrassment to the people of Ohio. His disgraceful conduct not only exposes him as a fraud and a hypocrite, but it highlights a complete failure on the part of Democratic leaders to adhere to the standard they promised to Ohioans."...

[Strickland] acknowledged the appearance of a "double standard" in that Dann's staff lost their jobs but Dann didn't, but quickly added he still hadn't read the full report. Strickland did say that an outside investigator should be hired to show the public the matter has been fully probed.
