I really enjoy watching the ladies softball team who has swept through virtually everybody for some years now. It is good that ESPN is televising a series of warmup games with various college teams leading up to the Olympics in China later this summer.
But I had to chuckle Tuesday evening as the ladies ran into a buzz saw in the person of a Va Tech pitcher who had tried out last summer for the national team, and just missed making it. She proceeded to throw a no hitter at the champs. They barely got a ball out of the infield. I'm sure they are embarrased and will redouble efforts, etc., but they are certainly in no danger of getting the big head after this. (Lots of good looking ladies on that team.)
