Huh? There was no mention of USC. There was no mention of returning 9 on each side. There was little reference to the past, other than as a jumping point for the mantra of '08, MLK's "FUN: Fierce Urgency for Now," which ... uh ... seems to emphasize the present, as opposed to the past or the future.
