Full disclosure: I think Dienhart is full of [censored] when he says "most talented team". He's keeping his options open later to look smart regardless of the outcome of the game.
That being said, it is very possible to be the most talented something and not be the best. Think of somebody like Bobby Fischer; he was enormously talented - possibly the most talented player of his generation. He wasn't necessarily the best chess player, though, for a variety of other reasons (namely, he was crazy). Just saying it's possible, that's all.
