More information on Kecman, Simmons
A few things I neglected or didn?t have room to include in yesterday?s story on the signing of junior-college transfers Nikola Kecman and Jeremie Simmons:
First, if Kecman (pronounced KETS-man) indeed is found by the NCAA to have played with a Serbian club team that included professionals, how long could his suspension last?
The penalty could go one of two ways.
If Kecman had completed high school when he played for the club during the 2006-07 season -- and he would have been 20 years old at the time, so it?s reasonable to assume he had -- the penalty is two NCAA games for every one game he played with the Serbian club. If Kecman was still in high school, the penalty is one game for one game.
