Sounds like me too. I'd rather build what I want than buy it. So find a fuel effiecient engine and drop it into a newer truck. I likey, but...

I did a similar thing a while back with my S-10 Blazer. It is 327 Chevy powered, 10 years ago it was a very popular swap and quite powerful. Now it needs to go back to a fuel efficient drive train. The original V6 is gone.
