I don't like to get into these debates but I gotta back my man Mili here. There's a name for the method that you use in accounting, double declining balance method. You depreciate certain fixed assets at roughly twice the rate than linear methods. But there's a draw back, after you had depreciated the entire amount prior to the service life of the equipment, you have to stop depreciating.
What does that mean here? It means that if you try to compensate for everyone that's leaving in the
next two years in one year, then in a couple of years you are not going to have
any scholarships to give. That's not how recruiting is done. You have to spread it out and the target normally is to compensate for the class that is leaving.
