'11 OH TB/LB Demond Hymes

Tailback/ Linebacker
5'10, 175 pounds
Warren G. Harding High School
Class of 2011

This decade/century alone, WGH has sent three different running backsto Division 1A schools, including two to Ohio State (Maurice Clarett in 2002 & Dan "Boom" Herron in 2007). All three of them represent the calibre of players that Demond Hymes grew up watching at WGH games, and now it is his turn to take his shot at the varsity level.

With his only experience up to this point coming at the freshman level, it would be foolish to think that Hymes will automatically be included in the group mentioned above. That said, Hymes knows that, and he has worked hard in an effort to get up to that level. It will take time to reach that goal, but he showed some signs on the field last year, and he's showing more signs in the weight room. Only time will tell how far Hymes can take his football career, so an early start this fall will go a long way in his development.

Here are highlights from Hymes' freshman season. Many of Ohio's best football programs, such as Steubenville, Cleveland St. Ignatius, Lakewood St. Ignatius, Youngstown Cardinal Mooney, and Youngstown Ursuline, and these are the type of programs that Hymes will continue to face as his career develops. Enjoy!
