Two more Indy stars


Indianapolis has produced so many top-notch players in recent years it's crazy. But don't think the run will come to an end anytime soon.

The latest two budding stars were shining bright last week at the Kentucky HoopFest in Louisville, helping the Indy Fast Break team win the 15 & under division title.

Michael Chandler is a 6-foot-10 sophomore-to-be at Indianapolis Lawrence North, while his high school and AAU teammate 6-6 Ryan Taylor is a solid wing player.

Both Chandler and Taylor (left) are potentially top-50 players (or higher) nationally. Indya Fast Break coach Richard Thomas said the colleges are already lining up.

Ohio State, Indiana, Florida, Cincinnati, Purdue and Illinois are among the ones that have called for Chandler. Taylor said "I want to be a Gator" and Thomas said the same schools are calling.

"When the schools call, they basically call for both," Thomas said. "I am sure everybody in the country will be calling on these guys."

Chandler has only played organized basketball for one season.
