The quarterback position has a steep learning curve so I don't think that he can be evaluated in absolute terms. The biggest improvement from a quarterback comes from the first year to the second year. I will say however that my impression of him last year was that he was completely devoid of any positive intangibles. I expect that we could beat SC with the Boeckman of last year but if we fail to run the table or win the championship I'm sure it will have been because of our weakness under center.

Completely devoid of all positive intangibles? I think you are being a little harsh with that statement. He did do some good things last year. It wasn't all bad. He may not be the Troy Smith type whose intangibles seemed virtually unlimited. But I think there were times that he showed a good amount of leadership and presence last year.
