Surgery a success for MSU basketball freshman Delvon Roe

EAST LANSING -- Highly touted incoming Michigan State freshman forward Delvon Roe now has two surgically repaired knees, but only a minor setback.

After Roe developed swelling in his left knee last week, the MSU medical staff scheduled him to have exploratory surgery. During Tuesday's operation performed by Dr. Mike Shingles, small particles of cartilage were cleaned out of the knee, according to a news release issued by the MSU sports information department.

Roe, who was already restricted to limited action this summer while recovering from major surgery on his right knee, should be cleared to return to action in about six weeks, the release said.
