I found this on Andrew Sullivan's log under the heading: "If Karl Rove were a Democrat." All I can say is ouch. This is brutal.
They won't do it, but McCain could be "swift boated." Although, Bush smearing him in 2000 got him some immunity with the press. There are a bunch of POW/MIA folks who are still [censored]ed at him for blocking investigations into possible MIAs still being held captive and his efforts to normalize relations with North Vietnam. In fact, some of the same guys who swift boated Kerry are trying to slime McCain as well (to a lesser effect).

The McCain trash is floating around out there. I think the divorce stuff is fair game because he has not been entirely forthcoming about how it went down (he had a marriage license to Cindy before the divorce was even final), but some of this stuff is completely unsubstantiated garbage (like the claim he made 30+ propaganda tapes).
