I thought it was a great speech. She delivered it well, went after the issues and made a clear distinction between her (and Dems) and McCain.

According to the latest polls, that is the biggest group of swing voters. That group will likely never be personally sold on him. They have to be appealed to on another level. I thought she nailed that.

No, she didn't talk about Obama's personality, but she said that he shares these values and these goals and these ideals. "Nothing less than the future of our children and the fate of our children hang in the balance." If that's not a reason to vote for the guy, I don't know what is.

Her whole speech was based on shared values with Obama and having the party unite with Obama. Did you listen to the whole thing, fourteen?

Clinton calls for unity - 2008 Presidential Campaign Blog - Political Intelligence - Boston.com
Your point was echoed by several of the newscasters, 14-0, but I think you are missing that point that MuckFich and Sushi are making. Those of her supporters that are ok with Obama as a candidate have presumably already made the switch. Those 'die-hards' needed to hear that the things that they believed in will be represented by an Obama presidency and NOT represented by McCain. She was purposefully addressing women and her supporters, many of whom have been irrational relative to their own political beliefs. It was also probably aimed at those who might never otherwise vote for the candidate with the "funny name" (a line that is relatively stupid if you've ever lived in any major city) to instruct them to rally around the issues, even if they hold some inner (or outer) biases (for lack of better words).

Schweitzer was great. The big loser last night may have ben Gov. Mark Warner who was completely outshown. I had a conversation with a friend of mine from Virgina before the speeches yesterday, and we both thought that Warner was in a prime spot to choose his own political destiny, but he may have dropped the ball by being too... unremarkable.
