I find myself laughing at Lou too, and not just because of his crazy "predictions" or his CVA-Like speech...but the fact that he knows it and purposely does it to [censored] off May.
However, talk shows only require ONE "comedic" performer...and I think thats Lou's job on the show. May's is to be a "non-bias educated analyst" and instead as you said he's just a giant bag of douche.
