Right, Cassel wasn't bad and didn't blow it, however in the NFL today QBs are heavily relied upon to make plays when they are needed. Brady was ridiculous this past year when he edged out Favre (given 1 vote) for the leagues most valuable player.

Plus, the Patriots are now predictable on Offense, no longer can they lull the Defense to sleep with the crossing 3 yard passes to Welker or Watson. They now must rely upon their running game and the deep ball. That provides opposing teams with a simple gameplan. Double Moss, crowd the bock.

I agree D can win championships, case and point: Baltimore Ravens with Dilfer as the lead. Yet, I don't see the Patriots competing with the power houses of the AFC. BUT we'll just have to see, because championships are not won on paper, if so, the Cleveland Indians would have coasted to a 2007 World Series Championship.
