BUCYRUS -- Stanley Jackson said he has played football since he was seven years old. Now, at 33, he still plays, this time in arena football with the Marion Mayhem.
But Jackson told the players in the Bucyrus football program that he would still trade places with each of them, despite all he's accomplished on the field.
"When I play football, I get goosebumps," Jackson said. "It's an honor and a privilege to be able to play football.
"When you get to our ages," Jackson told the players. "This will all end one day. But you still have an opportunity to strap it on. But when you get to our ages, can you be able to say that you are satisfied with the effort you gave, or will you have regret?"
The former Ohio State quarterback spoke to the Redmen players Wednesday night and his message was to be all you can be: On the football field, in the classroom and at home.
