Anthony Johnson, ranked among the top 50 high school juniors in the nation, has orally committed to the Purdue basketball program.
The 6-3 shooting guard from Whitney Young High School in Chicago is ranked No. 49 by Rivals and No. 32 by Scout, two of the nation's top recruiting services.
"There are good scorers, and then there are great scorers. Johnson is very much the latter," Rivals.com's Justin Young wrote in July after Johnson's performance in the Peach Jam in South Carolina.
Johnson was being recruited by Ohio State, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois and others.
