I certainly expect a vice presidential candidate to be able to answer the question of what a vice president does. "To support the policies of my president," would be a good starting point. To be a spokesman for the adminisration, to help organize support among our party members, would be even better and present the public with the image of someone who at least had read her civics book, but the job does not include being one who initiates legislation, takes part in committee work and votes regularly on senate business.
