Ohio State routed Michigan and Penn State did the same to Michigan State as the two schools tied for the Big Ten championship over the weekend. Both Jim Tressel and Joe Paterno welcomed in impressive groups of recruits at their respective games.
Tressel and his staff hosted two prospects on official visits, Under Armour All-American running back Jaamal Berry (Miami, Fla./Palmetto) and Under Armour All-American wide receiver Duron Carter (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas). Both Berry and Carter had already committed to the Buckeyes.
Berry came out of the visit saying he will still make official visits to Ole Miss and Florida, just as he has been saying for some time he plans to do. Berry says he is definitely an Ohio State commitment, but feels he should keep his word and visit the two SEC schools, just as he told their coaches he would.
Carter, who is the son of former Ohio State great Cris Carter, has no plans to visit anyone else and is focusing on helping his team win a state championship. Aquinas is 11-0 and ranked No. 1 in the state.
Tressel and his staff also hosted many other prospects on unofficial visits including some of the top juniors in the state of Ohio.
