ESPN - College Football Recruiting On the Trail 2009
Quote:
Vols' David Oku reopens recruiting
ESPNU 150 running back David Oku, who had committed to Tennessee, has reopened his recruiting due to the recent firing of coach Phillip Fulmer and the future of the program.
The highly-coveted ball-carrier, rated No. 13 among running backs in the Class of 2009, chose the Vols over Nebraska, Michigan, Florida State, Clemson and Louisville. He had taken official visits to Tennessee, Louisville and Nebraska.
Oku becomes the fourth pledge to change his mind since Fulmer's dismissal was announced. Running back Jarvis Giles (Tampa, Fla./Gaither), safety D.J. Swearinger (Greenwood, S.C.) and offensive lineman Antonio Foster (Valdosta, Ga.) decommitted earlier. Swearinger opted for South Carolina and Foster pledged to Georgia Tech
