USC wide receiver Vidal Hazelton has decided to transfer, according to sources inside the athletic dept. Hazelton will not be at football practice today. Sources said Hazelton is leaving for several reasons, including to move closer to his family in New York. His grandfather was recently diagnosed with cancer. He could not be reached for comment.

Penn State Board discussion:
Vidal Hazelton to transfer from USC
It is a bit starnge every time a player wants to transfer, they find a sick family member or use it as an excuse to try and get leniency in their case. Not to say it is never an issue. But how does a sick grandather in Georgia, compromise his attendance at USC?
