The story for Mirror's Edge was written by Rhianna Pratchett, daughter of author Terry Pratchett, famous for his Douglas Adams-esque Discworld series.

I thought the demo for Mirror's Edge was very cool, and it was enough to make me want to get the game when it drops to $29.99 or thereabouts. I didn't come away impressed enough to consider it for $59.99 though.

What the demo really reminded me of was Don Bluth's Dragons Lair. Even though Mirror's Edge looks like a sandbox game with a hundreds paths, it isn't. Most of it is one path with a lot of button combos and blind leaps of faith required to pull it off. Like Dragon's Lair, the only way to figure it out is to try it and die 47 different ways before you hit the right path, either through process of elimination or dumb luck.
