I think you could, might be able to make a case for:
They have been somewhat lucky in terms of scheduling and have gotten most of the breaks OOC.

-Playing Auburn before Auburn got it going with their running game
-Playing Arkansas before Arkansas got McFadden & Jones in gear and w/Mustain as a true frosh QB
-Playing Nebraska
-Playing Virginia AFTER they were decent for that one rare season
-Playing us with Beanie hurt and other issues
etc., etc.
Most of their bowl games have been virtual home games, etc. etc.

But, no denying, Pete can recruit bigtime, and recruit from everywhere, especially given innate USC advantages.
