More reason yet in the case of Hartline IMO. But I agree that Coach Tressel is above the sort of nonsense that Carroll engaged in.
I have absolutely no problem with Carroll trying to talk a young man out of a decision to go pro if he honestly believes that it's not in the boy's best interest to do so. But I have big problems if his motivations are selfish, and regardless of his motivation, at the press conference it should be his primary job to be supportive to his young charge - if he can't do that, he should just shut up.
