Ohio State football: Buckeyes land Texas QB Guiton

by Doug Lesmerises Friday January 30, 2009, 11:43 AM

Ohio State has landed a quarterback for its 2009 recruiting class.
Kenneth Guiton, a three-star quarterback from Eisenhower High School in Houston, committed to the Buckeyes on Thursday night, his coach, Ray Evans, said this afternoon.
Evans said Guiton and his father are expected to be in Columbus on Saturday, but that the pledge has already been made, giving the Buckeyes a third scholarship quarterback behind Terrelle Pryor and Joe Bauserman.
Evans said Ohio State recruiting coordinate John Peterson showed up at the school on Wednesday to ask for a DVD of Guiton's highlights. On Thursday, the Buckeyes called back and said they saw what they liked, made the offer, and Guiton accepted.
At 6-foot-2 and 172 pounds, Guiton is the No. 53-ranked quarterback recruit in the country according to Scout.com.
More to come.
