I also have it from a biased source that the UVA football program doesn't take people with school qualification issues...but I take her word lightly.
You can take her at her word on this one. From the UVA perspective, one thing that many UVA fans are peeved about is the admissions' office unwillingness to take just any kid that has qualified academically from the NCAA's perspective. There are a few instances of recruits being turned away or, more commonly, players already on the team dropping out academically and being snapped up by other programs. Jeffrey Fitzgerald couldn't stay qualified academically but transferred to K-State with zero problems. Just like any school, the academics requirements are loosened considerably for football players, but they're still more stringent than most.

I don't think Moses "so obviously wants to be a Buckeye" as one put it, as much as this is just a further sign of the extreme due diligence he's been doing throughout this process. I don't think he's been to Columbus yet (which would contradict one of the points in the Coyer thread about no offers without some kind of visit first unless Moses was up for a camp or junior day or something.) He's visited tons of places - was in Knoxville last weekend even though his Tennessee recruiter was Latrell Scott - who is now at UVA.
