Jeffrey Fitzgerald couldn't stay qualified academically but transferred to K-State with zero problems. Just like any school, the academics requirements are loosened considerably for football players, but they're still more stringent than most.
I should restate what I meant b/c it did not come out right. When I wrote "UVA football program doesn't take people with school qualification issues" I was wondering about the school imposed qualifications for athletes, not the school qualifications for the everyday student. As you stated UVA like every school loosens things for athletes (at least in sports such as football) whereas she maintains that they don't and haven't, which is why I take her opinion loosely.

Where I am ultimately going with this is we all know OSU is doing a good job of raising its admissions standards for both that of its general population and its athletes (most notably football); and most importantly to the issue of recruiting OSU admission standards are higher than NCAA standards. I am greatful for the job that both JT and our school have done to try to raise the academic profile of our recruits. Thus I am interested in knowing more about the standards that UVA and UNC (particuarly UVA) might have for its recruits which are above NCAA standards. Are these higher standards test scores and/or class rank? Do they have a class ranking requirement? I agree with you and I know that UVA's standards are higher than that of the NCAA, I am just looking for specifics while still knowing that every school has made at least one exception at some point.
